Hi All . Just new to this game .Wife died 4 Years ago and after 45 years I found myself at a loose end. We had no children and my wife was Disabled for the last 20 years before contracting a Brain tumour and looking after her was my main purpose in life . I am now interested in metal detecting for gold . I have not had much success yet but am still hopeful. I am 75 not out and still reasonably active. I am trying to sell my house and intend to buy a motorhome . I have a Minelab 2300and have recently upgraded to a 14x 9 Coiltek coil.

Well howdy Stranger, welcome aboard and good luck with it all. :D

Gday Stranger , what area are you from ? You have a great machine there with the 2300 . Its a very capable gold finder , I manage to find small bits most times Im out with mine . Dont know anything about the 14x9 but I know the standard coil does the job extremely well . You should be picking up little bits if your in the right areas , and plenty of bird shot if everything is working right maybe hook up with a prospecting tour or someone willing to share some experience . Best of luck . :Y:
cheers
Booney

Thanks for the welcome. I am from Nth Queensland but please do not hold that against me. I am 75 not out. I lost my Heavy Rigid licence and Steam engine licence when I turned 75. I am not likely to need them again.
Only thing I drive now is a car and a Minelab 2300 with a 14X9 gold extreme coil. I have not tried it out since changing the coil so I have great expectations.
Once I find out how to reduce the size of my photos I will post a few for you all . Most from up round the Forsyth area.
