Hi everyone.
Originally from Cornwall mining is in my blood - I come from a long line of tin miners (traced them back to the 1700s), but my grandfathers generation was the last to mine in my blood line (he was a carpenter).
Moved to Sydney over 20 years ago.
I've been enraptured by TV shows (gold rush, aussie gold hunters, prospectors) for a few years now - but have yet to take the plunge.
All that is about to change; with the family on side we're heading west for Easter and School holidays taking in Windeyer, Orange and Oberon.
We've bought a couple of pans, some sieves (for Sapphires) and I'm thinking about getting a little sluice.
We're pretty excited (although I think it's mostly me). With a copy of Doug Stone;s gold atlas we're currently planning the trip.
