The Starlink Mini has some advantages. The Mini uses a lot less power to run and the modem is internal. It's just the dish and cable and I don't notice its power consumption even when used for hours at a time.
Yep, been averaging 20-25w in its first 24 hours. Will be damn good off grid on solar / LIFEPO !

All we need now is Starlink phone service. Unfortunately this will be a joint venture with Optus:
well it kind of is already, just turn mobile phone to WiFi calling, and if in an area that has on/off sketchy normal phone reception just turn on Aeroplane mode and force the phone to use the Starlink WiFi calling, which is able to call and receive phone calls. We can receive and make calls in the middle of WA where there is zero normal phone reception

We get away to getaway. 🙂
Think of the safety benefits Peter. You can make a phone call anywhere with Starlink, which could literally save your life, or a loved one / friend ! I notice a lot of the remote Police vehicles now have Starlink for comms anywhere.
Not to mention all the other benefits of internet such as being able to check in with loved ones at home, weather reports, being able to make sure that the Pending you are on is still pending, or being able to lodge a 40E out in the bush if you need to move from your current " dud " area ! etc etc

Rick, Have a Barrett HF radio that after the initial cost about 20 years ago has cost me nothing. Can talk to airline pilots, listen to the BBC and of course make family & emergency calls anywhere in Australia.
Vast TV, once again free after initial cost just have to re- register every 6 months.
TV stations Australia wide. FREE.
Starlink, $200/month, hmm hypertheticaly saved about $25 grand in phone service, not to mention TV.🤪
