Hi all,
Just joined up and thought I'd introduce myself.

Been doing the scratching around in the dirt thing for a couple of years now.
I build my own gear and experiment with different ideas. I have exclusive access to some areas along the Mongarlowe river and have been scratching around there for a while with a little success.

I live in SW Sydney, like a beer now and then and would like to have more time to go out
and find that bright yellow stuff.

I have a few past times that keep me busy, I do a bit of pig shooting now and then, fishing, trail riding on dirt bikes, 4x4ing, drag racing and of course prospecting.

I have been a member of another forum for a while but it has gone a bit cold at the moment. I found this forum through one of Wal's vids on youtube and low and behold all the usual suspects from the other forum are on here. Cheers Guys!

I'm looking forward to telling tall stories and hearing some as well. :D

Cheers
Mick

I

G'day Mick,

welcome - look foreward to seeing a yarn or two on the forum

Glad to have you jump ship Mick, :) I'm sure you'll find why so many have followed suit and are now involving themselves with a forum that's about sharing and not about individuals with big egos. :) Your a lucky man if you've got access to the Mongarlowe. ;) Hope you find the forum informative and look forward to some tales from the Braidwood district....Cheers Wal. :)

I've got a large number of properties in the piliga area and we try to hit them every couple of months. Nothing beats great times in the bush with good mates. Whether it's chasing pigs or chasing the yellow stuff.

Hay Wal,
I've been scratching around The Little river for a while but haven't found the mother load as yet.
I've been watching your vids for a while on youtube, you and Liz get around a bit mate. Good on you.

Cheers
Mick

Welcome Mick, I'm glad you found the forum :), I look forward to seeing you around.

Hay Nugget,
I'm glad to have found the forum as well, now I know why the other forum was a bit quiet :D
I don't get up Maitland way very often but you never know.
Cheers
Mick

Yeah welcome Mick, sounds like you've got the Aussie male pastime situation stitched up there. Good on ya keep up the good work. love chasin pigs although the dogs have to hang on a bit longer these days. It takes a while to catch up and get my breath back. :)

Hay Kemjak,
You guys have some big porkers up there that's for sure.
I was up your way July last year.
We took 6 dirt bikes and 2 4bies to the tip. Great trip.

Cheers
Mick

Haven't got that far yet but every time we travel to Weipa we pick up a dozen or so a 10/12 hour trip has taken us 30 hours at times. I think the trucks instinctively stop at every obscure water hole we know of. But wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Try to get away as often as we can Mick...It's a damn big place this country of ours and there's a lot more things to see than we can fit into just one lifetime. There's some rely good gold where you're scratching and I'm sure that bigger bit will find you soon mate.Cheers Wal. :)

I hope so Wal.
Going down there over Easter so I'll see how I go.
I was thinking about calling into the ford on the way but I think I'll give it a miss, Too many people. I like the solitude on the Little River.
I've got a spot I've been wanting to highbank for some time so I think I'll give it a go.

Cheers

I hear you there Mick....the Forde can can get pretty busy these days. I've got a little spot I work near the Ford, where I can avoid the crowds, that still produces consistent colour but spend more time these days in the Tuena / Bathurst region. Best of luck with your Hi-banker and hope the "yellow follows you around, Cheers Wal. :)
