hey all, a bit about me.
Pete from Wollongong. I have no real experience in metal detecting or prospecting so I have joined your forum as I have read a lot on here in the past week anyway :)

I purchased a Garrett Euro Ace last week and used it on Sunday for a few hours to get a feel for it. I still need to get it tuned in better because there are heaps of things in the sand there. It was going off non stop.

I took it to 7 mile beach at Gerroa, didn't find much but also was not really prepared so couldn't really dig too much etc. Still have everything about this hobby to learn &
hopefully it will all come together over time. I also bought a Garrett Pro Pointer today and making a sand scoop tomorrow which should be useful too.

So, as you can see, I have the "L" plates on. will be interesting to see how it all goes.
Look forward to chatting with you all,
cheers,
pete

Welcome Pete
I'm sure you'll find heaps of help here, check out the previous posts and use the search function, if the answer isn't there already then one of the members is sure to help, they've helped me heaps already,
Cheers Tom

Welcome to the forum Pete. I detect in the same areas as you will so our paths may cross sometime soon.

Welcome to the forum Pete. "L" plates soon turn to "P"plates, and some dedicated studying of the forum threads will soon have you progressing to the "E" ...expert plates.

Best of luck with the detector and don't be shy to ask the members for advice should you need it.

Cheers Wal.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Will trawl the forum a bit more over the next week and I am always up for a meet and greet. Might even bring the cook along :)
Let me know if anyone in Wollongong is getting out and wants to catch up.
Cheers,
pete
