Hi there,
After reading this forum for years I have taken the plunge and signed up. Thanks to all of you who have contributed to the wealth of info on here. I started prospecting about 10 years ago with the 2200 and after trying that in the GT for a brief time (and no gold) absolutely was hooked. Headed to WA about 9 years ago and was lucky to meet up and camp with a bunch of seasoned veterans (how you going Madtuna?) and quickly realised a 4500 was the go. Still have the trusty machine and ended up heading west from Vic every year for about 7 months for the next five years, found enough to get by by swinging every day and keeping costs down, whilst working in the off-season. Am now living in Ballarat (moved here a few weeks ago) and have found a few tiddlers in Creswick state forest, yes, there is still some there! Just wondering, anyone know how close you are allowed to detect near a road or track? Thanks, Tom

TOM!!! There's a blast from the past!
Welcome aboard mate and good to hear you're still detecting. I thought you must have got yourself married to that pretty thing you kidnapped from the mines and settled down somewhere.

Let me know if you get back over this way, would be good to catch up.
I've moved since we last met and I'd hate for you to roll up and find I'm no longer there. So I'll draw a map to my new place and nail it to my old door. It's not too far and should be easy to find with decent instructions. It's about 50 metres south west of the old spot :Y:

Hi mate! As a matter of fact I did get myself married to her! In Ballarat for the next little while, after spending a few years in northern NSW, not a heap of detecting in the last few years unfortunately so feeling a bit rusty! Always a bed for you over here, otherwise no firm plans to get over west again but always wanting to.... maybe next year... ?
