Hi there,
After reading this forum for years I have taken the plunge and signed up. Thanks to all of you who have contributed to the wealth of info on here. I started prospecting about 10 years ago with the 2200 and after trying that in the GT for a brief time (and no gold) absolutely was hooked. Headed to WA about 9 years ago and was lucky to meet up and camp with a bunch of seasoned veterans (how you going Madtuna?) and quickly realised a 4500 was the go. Still have the trusty machine and ended up heading west from Vic every year for about 7 months for the next five years, found enough to get by by swinging every day and keeping costs down, whilst working in the off-season. Am now living in Ballarat (moved here a few weeks ago) and have found a few tiddlers in Creswick state forest, yes, there is still some there! Just wondering, anyone know how close you are allowed to detect near a road or track? Thanks, Tom
