Heading out to Sofala (Green Point) for 4 days over Anzac w/end. Will be taking the Garrett AT Gold & see if I can work it out... more to have a play & see if anything around.

Welcome to the forum 59. You're giving yourself a good chance with choosing Sofala as your practice ground as many good nuggets have come from this region. The AT Gold is a very capable machine and checking out the many mullock heaps in the region would be a good place to focus some attention on.
