Hi guys!
First of all apologies in advance for my lack of knowledge and correct fossicking terms :)

I've had a passion for exploring and gems since i was a little girl, so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered that I could combine the two!! :D

I'm from melbourne and have tried a creek around the area of Poweltown. Unfortunately I didn't find anything, which makes me wonder if I was in the right area.
If anyone could help me out with good 'fossicking' areas around there and any other good sites around the south eastern suburbs, i would be eternally grateful.

I'm so excited to have joined this community and look forward to learning and sharing my experiences with you all.

Kinda.

G'day Kinda,

Welcome to the forum. Good place to research likely spots in here.

I don't know the area over there to well but maybe try out Healesville way. Make sure you have a miners right and fossicking in the allowable locations. You can find all the info in areas on the forum. Check out Wal N Liz on youtube also. some good instruction there.

Best of luck and enjoy.

Cliiff

Thank you so much Cliff.
I didn't know about the miners permit will have to look into that.

Welcome to the forum Kinda. Great step in the right direction by joining the forum, as many avenues can be opened by mixing with a very diverse member base.

Gold and Gem fossicking can open a great lifestyle seldom experienced by many city folk, who only get to experience the great outdoors from their recliner watching "discovery channel".

Hope you find the forum gives you enough inspiration to get out there and enjoy the wonders of our great geological world.

All the very best of luck with it.

Cheers Wal.

Thanks Wal,
I couldn't agree with you more. There is so much out there if we just take the time to stop and appreciate it.
I'm glad I've joined as well. I'm already learning so much and the people here are kind and supportive.

Thank you again,

Kinda. :)
