Heading to Gembrook

Gidday everyone I thought I'd take my daughter for a look at Gembrook area then head to Hoddles Creek....going to pan around for the afternoon. Will hopefully have pics of our little adventure into the unknown. Hope you're all having an awesome day.

Our adventure into Kurth Kiln park

Can only imagine how this big rock ended up on top of the (Hill - Mountain). There were bigger ones around and I was in awe.

Saw this big clunk of Gold in the Sieve and thought WOOHOO but it wasn't to be....only a Fresh water forest Pipi. Amazing seeing these in creeks and not the Sea - Ocean.

Had more fun with the local inhabitants so we gave panning away and absorbed the scenery and bush life.

One for reference of size.

Very true and my daughter and I loved the experience....I will take her with me anywhere because she always has something to talk about and asks lots of questions.

Looks like you both had a great day, did you go to Shipwreck Falls which is only a 1km or so down the road towards Launching Place?
The rocks are awesome and it feels like you're in another world, worth the trip back there if you missed it.

Here's a couple of pics of what's there.

This is the first set of rocks you'll come to from the car park.

And this is at the creek, Tracey is in the middle of the photo to give you and idea of the magnitude of this spot, it makes you feel like you're living in the movie "Land of the Giants", incredible place to explore.

Unfortunately I hadn't discovered the joys of prospecting by then so will return to this place with a pan, I'm pretty sure they will be gold or gems in the area.
