im up from Melbourne but originally NZ.
been in Australia 14 years and done a tonne of 4wding but no prospecting.
a friend in Victoria did a heck of a lot though and his stories were great a bit like golf turning a day walking into something better than just km that prospecting can be sitting out in the bush but if youre lucky you get a prize for your efforts.
im far more interested in the novelty of finding gold than the money side of it.
i had to stop work last year as my first lung transplant gave up the ghost so im not as keen on the running winch cables up hills as i used to be but im still in love with brewing up a cup of coffee in the bush and id like to get a bit of prospecting in at the same time when Queensland isnt so busy cooking me with the bloody heat.
i dont know if im looking at getting any detector equipment but im sure up for organising myself the panning gear to go through some river stones and sand if anyone wants to point me in a good direction or set up the chairs and billy somewhere.
