gold target i never said i havnt blown gold mate i just said that i have never been able to find any.. at the start i used bucket on the end most of the day and then let my mate thats done fair bit of panning pan it off as he had done alot more panning than me and he was really keen to see how well it worked. after i got used to using it a bit every now and then i would put the bucket at end again towards the end of the day to see how much was going over after running dirt most the day with fair amount of black sand and we still didnt find any. there is always some blue moss showing between riffles when i have the water flow right. if i didnt have enough water flow and no moss exposed between riffles i would be blowin fair bit but i always make sure can see some moss between each one. like i said im no expert but i find the GSA to work well enough for me. although i wouldnt mind building a walbanker as a bit of a project n giving it a run :)

haha whoops sorry, half asleep at end of night shift might of got bit off topic. sorry all. i was talking bout large one :)

Thanks for the reply. Perhaps i misconstrued what was said. I'm certainly no expert myself, and my post wasn't meant to imply anything you eluded to was incorrect, merely that someone reading this might buy it, test it and find the result less than satisfactory. I have editing to do on a previous post after "comprehensive" testing. And what i mean by that is some tests fail, taking a sample from the tailings after they hit the ground or relying on the gold captured as "proof" that a particular setup or machine is working with no losses is misleading. I've become very intrigued in highbank design and setup and have found it agonisingly difficult to test something properly, and the results I'm finding leave alot to be desired. Anyhow if you are confident in its ability to do the job well and it captures enough gold for you to be happy then I accept that. I myself am learning slowly that things can't be taken on face value, and accepting limitations gives the best opportunity for recovery improvement.

thanks gold target yea im hearing you it is hard to know. i captured tails best i could for a while at the start because i was worried bout losing it after going to all the effort of digging it pretty confident with it now though..

Really interesting comments about riffle design and depth. After using a garret super sluice pan very successfully and noting its deep riffles I was wondering whether a sluice box using that sort of riffle would work better than the usual type?
