Earliest memories are of picnics at Ophir as a kid, using a tin plate to wash some sand, actually found a few specks after spending a couple of hours in the freezing cold water. From then on every time we went out there for the family picnic I played around in the water panning with a proper pan and picking up a little dust and a match head size nugget. Later in another state I discovered metal detectors, found a wealth of tin cans, .303 projectiles, the odd button etc. Now back in the central west of NSW and as a bloke said "stick with it, you'll enjoy it". I know I will learn off the experienced people her.

cheers :D

So that's the secret, ya gotta use a tin dinner plate! And here I've been spending big bucks on Garret and Minelab pans, sluices, water pumps, sieves, crevicing tools and even some gummies! Who'da known eh?

G'day mate, welcome!
