Hi to all from Spike's Mate. Spike is my 14 yo Jack Russell who has travelled as vehicle accessory over much of central and eastern Australia over a number of years until recently retired at home with an aged related problem. My name is Glynn and originate from Adelaide. Like Spike I am also retired but fortunately not restricted due to health problems like my old mate. Very active on a steep learning curve since acquiring my Minelab 4500 some few months ago and presently a temporary resident in Vic to further my education in the triangle. I thank all concerned for the volumes of invaluable instructional information available to newbies like me contained within the forum correspondence. Hopefully I will one day also be able to contribute in some small way to the benefit of other members. Very pleased to be involved.

Welcome to the forum Glynn. Sounds like you're already well up that steep learning curve by the amount of travel under your belt and the acquisition of a 4500.

Hope you find the forum a great asset in both information and inspiration, as we have a very friendly bunch of members keen to enjoy not only the prospecting game, but also everything the great outdoors has to offer.

Look forward to having you join the clan and sharing your stories and adventures. Best of luck and hope Spike still gets to sniff out some of those gold nuggets.

Cheers Wal.

It's great to have you on the forum Glynn, and I'm glad we got your password issue all sorted.

Best of luck out there and I hope to see you around the topics.

Nugget.

Welcome Glynn and also Spike. Yes, it's a great forum and there's always something to learn. We're novices but found our first gold recently after 3 years, apart from panning years ago which was great. Jacko, our mini foxi is 15-1/2 and also has travelled many ks and like us, is so much healthier when he is away. He takes his heart tablet (hidden in a blob of cream cheese) and arthritis medication!! We also have a 4500 and it's taken patience, advice and tuition from others to actually get to know what to listen for. Never ending learning along the track.
