Hi. I am not a gold seeker. Toolate now ! But if deciding to sell our small acerage in future I wonder if it is something to mention,ie freehold is partly on old diggings. I know nothing about them but are old,we sometimes found old pickheads and even a chinese ginger jar ( think thats what it was )
If this isnt appropriate please delete and thanks anyway. Happy prospecting.

Given the complicated official process for accessing public land for fossicking/prospecting in NSW, I reckon those old diggings could be a real bonus for you when it comes to resale time. If I were you I'd definitely add them to the features list and up the price accordingly.

If you do some online research you can possibly locate old-time maps showing gold workings in your area and maybe even find an historical account via Trove ( https://trove.nla.gov.au/ ). It would be an interesting and painless way to potentially add thousands to your property's value without any need to dig holes, take samples or do any prospecting yourselves.

Here is an example of a recent thread here on Prospecting Australia, about an area in Queensland, where a new member joins the discussion to ask about his family's property in the area and some of the old parish maps, aerial photos, etc., which then came to light:

Good luck!

Yeah thannks. I think we are on general map but not sure exact spot. They were digging like rabbits. The holes are/ were filled but sunken . In one place when it was grazed there is long shallaw ditch what may have been where creek was diverted..is a sluice ? Or not that name? The creek was seasonal when we came 30 yrs ago,but has run continuous past few years . G night, hope your days are gold.
