Bye HTY, ive never met you but I know persons that have and havnt heard a bad word against you.
Good luck with everything mate, never stop hunting that yellow.

Ive been out with HTY a few times, and will head out with him again soon. He is a good guy who is very knowledgeable and freely shares his knowledge with other people. I know that he has been badly burnt a few times by fellow prospectors who are only interested in what they can get out of him - perhaps that was a factor. I'm not suggesting that they are/were from this site, but its disappointing to hear that it happens.
This forum will miss him and his posts in particular the photos of old mine shafts.

Never met him, but I liked him too.

I have only been around for 5 minutes, but enought to know he made some good mates here over time.

He will be back once that urge to share again burns deep inside!

Regards

Nearly met you Hunting the yellow. Sadly a bushfire emergency got in the way so I had to turn around from going to a dig you were on.

Safe digging and mine exploration. :)

So nugget does this mean that all of hunting yellows threads, photos and such will now disappear completely from the forum, as if he had never existed ?

We don't delete accounts due to the disruption it would cause across the forum, therefore HTY's user account has simply been disabled.

He was having an "issue" on another forum that must have blown out as the thread has been removed. Must have been a good blue as the threads on that forum sometimes get locked but even more rarely removed.
Gist of it was that HTY tried to help out a member of this forum & promote one of their products. A debate ensued on said product that eventually led to some questions being asked about HTY credibility in regards to his mining operations. Didn't see how it finished but like I say not well if the thread was removed on there. HTY left that forum & deleted some of his previous posts.
Don't think there was any issue with this forum or anyone on it. A personal clash on an open forum that ended badly elsewhere by the looks.
Yeah it wasn't anything to do with Prospecting Australia.
Gold is a fickle metal and unfortunately many fools will pursue it. They will also comment on topics before they think.
HYT is an incredible source of information and will be sorely missed. His knowledge of geology and Hard Rock mining is unlike any I have seen in the industry. I have had the honour of prospecting with this rare talent.
HYT I hope you find some time later down the track to join us again here at Prospecting Australia.
Remember opinion's are like ********, everybody has one. I can vouch that if an individual or a group of people have been talking negative about you or anything you are giving the thumbs up. Then it is a simple case of little man syndrome.
I have been in this industry for a long time and you certainly have a lot more going for you, than some people that had plenty to say on the forum I visited recently.
As for your mining operations HTY, your approach and method to finding these hidden reefs is in my mind very sound.
I can vouch for HTY here, because I have seen first hand how this young man goes about his prospecting.
Not only does he do it safely, he is able to identify risks and dangers that others simply would not see.
And yes he can spot the smallest bit of gold from a mile away. I started calling him eagle eyes.
There is a great chance that this young man will find more gold in his life time than most on this forum.
Good luck with the Hunt, striker !

Hopefully he will come back one day when things have cooled over, up to him. I think a lot of us who have been on a forum for a while can become entangled in a situation that blows up and becomes uncomfortable. Time doesn't heal all wounds but it can certainly help.

I reckon he'll be back. Not the first time he's left the other forum.
Found out that the thread was removed due to a request because of a comment about the product not due to a blow up. HTY certainly wears his heart on his sleeve though & being young probably attracts a bit of skepticism that in time he'll learn to deal with I guess. End of the day if you put your opinion etc. out there rightly or wrongly there will be differing opinions, disbelief, etc. & how you handle that is an individual response - time out isn't always a bad thing.

i did a geology course with simion and found him to be passionate about anything prospecting and geology, he would not hurt a fly and got a kick out of talking about his experiences. pity he's gone as I liked his photo's he took down the mines as they are the only way I will see down the old mines as my cahunus are not big enough to get me down there...
regards trashy

So was HTY able to remove all of his photos from the forum ?

if you use photo bucket and delete the photos from your account then they wont load on the site as they are stored elsewhere

I just noticed that most of HTYs photos are gone is all and wondered if the ones that are still visible are only there because he couldn't delete them before his account was disabled.

He just hasn't deleted all images from his hosting account (yet).

It's just a bit of a pity that the images don't remain as part of the forum, as a picture can tell a thousand words(so they say).

Yeah I agree, currently members have the option to either upload directly to the forum or post externally hosted images. For obvious reasons, I eventually plan to implement a code change that copies any externally hosted images posted on the forum over to our server to display them locally. There's already a clause for this in the forum rules under privacy.

It sucks when the images no longer exist on a post due to being deleted from an external image hosting service over time. On a serious note I will miss HTY posts.

It's a shame alright but sometimes its best to remove oneself from a situation before things get out of hand.

Just for the record though, I'm unaware of any issues between HTY and any other member of this forum. Seeing as he's leaving all gold forums I surmise he may have been having problems elsewhere.

that's very true nugget :) that's what I did
