I had a decent break in the weather today allowing for a second run over the racecourse site. After the good run of silvers on the previous trip, things were pretty slow to start off with -- first cab off the rank was a 1907 English threepence found at the base of some pines. Slowly but surely the silvers started to flow - good thing is that they were mostly silvers with just one copper and some BB's for the outing.
I had a sniff around the buildings with no coins found, though did come up with an Army officer's pip and a gilt button with shank. Continuing on detecting the open areas I located a Rams head shilling, and later on a fantastic 1904 English shilling which is considered to be relatively scarce. Finished off the day with a few more threepences and sixpences before heading home (and not without another visit from the friendly cows).
