luckyfive I purchased the deluxe 4 tray one about six weeks ago. I was amazed at how good it actually works. You need a good supply of water or recirculate it. Sieve down to 1/8 of an inch, smaller if you like. It will trap gold down to micro gold, and then you have to pan it off. I am at this stage now and am struggling with the removal of black sand as it takes the floating gold and fine gold with it, though I have overcome the floating gold problem. Even though it was a bit pricey I am glad I got it and will be great in summer to play with when too hot to detect.
Thanks for the reply, did 99% of the gold get caught in the 1st matted tray as they say or was there much in the 2nd and 3rd? Please don't say there was a lot in the last one as I only purchased the 3 stack and have taken a chance on the last one not doing much??? Regards luckyfive.
Hi Luckyfive,
I swear by the Goldcube. I classify my cons from the Walbanker to 1/8th and then put through the goldcube. I have 3 collection trays and 95% of the gold is in the first tray.I then put these one at a time through a blue bowl. Takes a while but you retreive every minute piece of gold.
Good luck mate
Cheers
Mark
I have done no prospecting/fossicking, but as I am almost 60 I am looking for a hobby to keep me interested in living once I retire (some of you you know the deal I am sure!)
My question is this, in NSW is operating a Gold Cube on site regarded as "Processing" by the Dept of mines?
I would like to get one, but I do not want to end up in strife.
Hi am new to this and am looking at getting the gold cube and was wondering if the trommel or topper attatchment is better and what does this machine go like with clay soils as live in new england area nsw
