Hi All,
Rob Here from The NSW Central Coast.
I have been Gold Panning on an off for years, initially around Mudgee/Hargraves when the Parents in law had a farm, then mostly at Nundle for the last 8 years.
So far a very small amount of Gold and some garnets.
With the recent purchase of the Monster I took it to Lue just outside of Mudgee and wanted to see what made it tick.
After wrangling it off my son on day 2 I was able to play with it, and it went well as it would chirp regularly, equalize itself, and still be able to pick up targets.
I was able to see hot rocks and then sweep around to cancel them out, it still squealed on nails, wire and cartridge cases. The discriminator bar was good at showing wire and nails, as well as showing the brass cases as gold. No actual gold but good to see the Brass indicate differently to the nails etc.
It seems to chirp away as I used it and equalize the ground well enough to see relatively shallow targets of a few inches. It did locate a fragment of a brass case buried in a crevice in dry river bed rocks with lots of oxidized stones.
Cheers Rob
