think those who get enjoyment bagging other people should spend more time on the "other forums" where this seems an acceptable form of treating ones fellow prospectors. Just my opinion.

Your ignorance in what "you" call "Good Business Sense" astounds me, as what has been said is opinion based only and has nothing to do with "Business".

Then why are you getting emotional about opinion only?

You are very correct in your observation that it is "Our" forum, and that is why you are entitled to your opinion and I am equally entitled to mine.

But your a moderator here....your supposed to set an example as a leader and not get emotionally involved in dust ups.

I have nothing against you personally, "But" as a mod I feel it important to diffuse any "Dust Ups" as you put it, before the the dust has a chance to cloud ones vision. If you take the time to actually check out any of my post history you will find I rely very little on "emotion" and prefer to lean more towards "common sense" and "ethics". If you don't like the methodology of my moderation, then put in a complaint to the admin.

1st off , my comments about being unstable
were probably a bit to much and for that I apologize
to Hercules and all forum members,
But it must be
said that anyone who condones or participates in
physical violence to satisfy their own pride or ego,
or can abuse and allude to allegedly filthy goings on.
are setting themselves up as a target.
His passion and enthusiasm are not in question but
after seeing and hearing his abuse of Victorians, I
felt to make the comment I posted.
Lets keep things light hearted and I will refrain from
posting comments which were intended as tongue.
in cheek ie: unstable and chip on the shoulder.

I also disagree with his comments regarding Victorians.....But if you spend some time reading the abuse he gets from "several"other forums, you might understand the retaliation.....everyone makes mistakes including Hercs, it's part of being human, but individual mistakes can be compounded if respect for humanity isn't observed.

I know nothing of the events, or what was said to create the original altercation, but as an outsider I'd leave the dispute to those involved, and not publically judge either's character.

Some people will like him others will not.Everyone will have a different opinion, but at the end of the day we are all here for the same reason and that is prospecting. This forum has a lot of good people and it would be a shame if we took the low road and said something we will regret. I enjoy being on this forum and the knowledge shown and shared is priceless.

You be the judge but looking at the reaction in this thread I think the General will have the last laugh.
Good for him if he's succeeded in what he's set out to achieve in these video's.
Equally, if that's just his true personality then good on him too for being who he is.

That's exactly right noncents, we're here for prospecting, and not to judge fellow prospectors. If we keep it to "Like Him", or, "Not Like Him" or his Vids, and not get into personal judge / jury regarding downgrading anybody's personality in an unfair manner, then everybody would be happy. Same goes for all prospectors putting up their footage for the rest of us to share.....like or dislike, without personal attack....no problems at all.

I for instance, don't like Bearkats comparisons of the ATX vs GPX....but doesn't mean I have the right to not like the guy personally.....only his content. I respect the guy as a fellow prospector who has great knowledge worth sharing publicly.....but that's another topic.

Just needs enough "negative" comment to swing the balance, and many uploading on YouTube, including myself, would not upload for the general public, and only upload to personal subscribers, whom we would have the ability to delete.....and,... go the Rabbits and the Saints.

I was a bit taken back by the General, But after a while I changed my mind.
He is loud = He is enjoying his life.
He bopped a few on the nose = Dosent like idiots and there behaviour.
And being unstable = Well I get unstable sometimes from some of the rubbish that goes on in the world.
I reckon if you got to know him as a person you would change your perspective of this individual.
Good to see the enthusiasm and passion that surrounds him.
Don't Pass judgement to quickly and furthermore lets not head down that same road the other forums have taken and keep this one in check.

Ill say it again.. the general is a top bloke..what you see on the net is not the real general...hes very generous, very honest and one of the funniest men ive ever met..
yes hes a character, hes eccentric.. he wears his heart on his sleave......but hes also OBSESSED with gold..... which is why most of us are here right..hes taught me everything i know about the stuff and got me into swinging a detector...ill back him up all the way.....[.by the way,, I dont call him general,, I knew him before all that rubbish..lol]
