Hi there,

Firstly a shout out to any FIFO workers out there, been working in the industry for a while myself.

Have worked as a Geotechnical Engineer in open pit and underground (narrow vein and caving) mining Gold, Copper and Iron Ore (not all at once ). For those that are wondering what the hell a Geotech does, in a nutshell we try to keep the roof up and the walls out - all things ground stability. Rock kickers not rock lickers (any Geologists out there?).

As far as prospecting goes it all started for me with the pan as a curiosity and has so far progressed to metal detecting. Good times.

Welcome aboard sounds like you would be a good bloke to know if digging a hole, would love to hear some of your experiences
