FIRST TIME USER GARRETT AT GOLD DETECTOR

Hi everyone this is my first post hope you can help me,
is there a group out there that give lessons on how to use the garrett at gold detector
i`ve tried for hours can`t seem to get my head around it i live in the yarra valley Launching Place Vic

There are a few GARRETT owners on the forum - hopefully a few nearby. You have the Upper Yarra Goldfields at your back door - are you a panner as well?

Hi John, I've been using the AT gold for about six months now, and I love it

When you have time I'd suggest you watch the garrett at gold instructional videos on YouTube first.
Then get out and use it as much as possible.
There are also some good threads here about the at gold.

i am just starting out,with plenty of time up my sleeve i intend to do both on a regular bases

I bought mine mostly to look for gold, but started to try it in my backyard to get used to it. I started to find old coins and trinkets! I've since spent much more time coin shooting than looking for gold, but as a result I learned how to use it, and also how to listen to the sound of targets.
I'm getting much better at distinguishing between, for example, a tin can and a coin that both read the same target ID. Just going out and using it, no matter what for, will teach you more about it than what you could learn from another person, in my opinion.
