Crikey, Minelab's model range now has more choices than a Chinese restaurant menu!
IMHO, "building for breakthrough" is a pretty lame marketing tagline, when what you're announcing is no more than a tweaked version of existing models. Maybe Minelab's guys aren't familiar with Spinal Tap:

Hmm a few new features like flashlight, vibration, collapsible carbon fibre rod, and two coils for the EQ900. Perhaps more spec updates etc.
Is it worth the RRP $1699 to upgrade. Wonder if the Coiltek coils and other ML coils for the EQ800 will be compatible.

In the above-linked Introducing the Equinox 700 & 900 video, the Aussie Minelab engineer says the new Equinox coils aren't quite the same as the old ones, but that all Equinox coils are compatible with all Equinox models.
