While it doesnt work for me and Ill admit Im a sceptic, I know a bloke who divines for opal and is very successful. I have absolutely no doubt at all it works for him.

Luck? Coincidence? Placebo? Hayous idiotmotor? Who knows but again it works for him.

There is also no scientific evidence that having a sacred stick or piece of bone pointed at you will cause you to die either, but that happens even to this day...to those that believe.

Im a sceptic but open minded.

For all you potential entrepreneurs dont forget to abide by work place health and safety regulations. if you intend to market your divining rods they must meet Australian Design rules so you cannot use metal rods because they could cut your hands and are too heavy. My solution is to use non-corroding light weight plastic coat hangers, this way you cant get tetanus should they rust and minimises any chance of RSI.

If you want to thank me for my insight and expertise, a share in the royalties would be appreciated!

As for their accuracy, I guess you could compare them to metal detectors and their operators. Some are successful and others not quite so. Should that then make one skeptical about metal detectors?

Did you just compare Metal Detectors to Dowsing?????????

Why not? After all, they have something in common: both have been scientifically tested.
Only the results differ. One works, the other doesnt. ]:D

Edit: actually, its more than just that. One has a plausible natural pathway between object->detection->response and the other has no plausible natural explanation (in terms of the object being detected _causing_ movement of dowsing rods or wires).

Only plausible explanation would be a generalised afinity through another dimention..... thereby making difinitive detection through our experienced 4 dimentions impossibly implausible ;)

That makes it unequivocally unambiguous and without a shadow of a doubt!

We lived in Africa, we know all about their wacky black magic. My father was playing a soccer game in Mozambique, he was goalkeeper. The locals were going crazy accusing him of witchery, because he was wearing a cap (hat). He had to remove it or they wouldn't play on. He kept saving shots, so they made him put the cap behind the goal.
And bone pointing and people dying with hair in their stomach is not unheard of. But there are explanations for that as well. But that's for another topic.
The vooodooo we are talking about here is Dowsing right?

:D

See I know nothing about the technical aspects of dowsing. I don't even know what a dimention is.

The more you learn the dumber you feel.

That's just a fancy word for dementia!

I have undeniable proof that dimention is the key ..............

Where were we ............ yep, have a few rods soaking in some raw sapphires and will give them a try at Glen Inness this weekend

Don't forget to use some Dimentium oil on the tips. It will help emit true dimention and make pin pointing minerals and gems easier.

Water devining works when the right person does it. 100%.

Finding gold, Im not so sure. I can only talk about what I have seen with my own eyes.

Looking forward to the pics. :D :D :D

There was a show on tele many years ago where they laid pipes about a foot underground and pressurized them with water, they then invited anyone that thought they could find them to have a go. There was no shortage of takers and they all had stories on how they never fail but none of them were even close.
Stories abound, just like with fortune tellers and psychics, but just like with those guys when they are put to the test they come up short.

There are a lot of tell tale signs of water deep underground. And using some sticks is just trickery. Blind fold them...and then try it.
That is why they fail controlled tests, because THEY need to be in control.
Its a scam. Just like fortune tellers.

That would be a great combo... a fortune telling dowser. Hmmmm. Wonder how that would work.

Anyone who believes they can do it..is just a victim of the Ideomotor Effect.
