I am curious about the Nokta Invenio. It looks good and appears to identify the correct shape of objects, but I am looking for nuggets, not coins and artefacts. Does anybody know if this machine operate successfully in Australian mineralized conditions, and will it differentiate between say a lead shot, a hob nail and a small lump of gold, to the point where you could confidently make the call without digging.
I have had difficulty finding anybody with actual first hand knowledge, never seen anybody using one.

Ded Driver's assessment is well-founded and Nokta's own website makes the intended usages clear:

Metal detector prospecting for gold in Australia hasn't got much in common with any of those applications.

Achieving that successfully is like the holy grail of detector prospecting. Unfortunately, gold doesn't play by the same rules as human artifacts: it can be any size, any shape, any depth, alloyed with varying amounts of other metals, mixed with any amount of other minerals, etc, etc, etc.

Having said that, if you want to buy one and give it a try for yourself, please keep us in the loop - in this case, we'd love to be proved wrong!

Yep, the holy grail is what I was after. I just want to stroll around looking at gold nuggets come up on a tv screen. With an electronic voice saying, "bullet", "tin can", "piece of crap". Anyway. thanks for your response.
