email the guy from the CD, and for permission, he maybe happy with you acknowledging his work, and a link to his website, channel, or place his music can be purchased. I am sure there would be free/royalty free stuff in youtube, or the net. I like the didge, and cant see it being disrespectful.

Was going to suggest the same thing, most muso's would be happy to do that if permission is sought from them. Just asking for permission is a rare thing these days and would certainly earn his respect for doing so.

Didgeridoo is a great instrument, have recorded a few didge sessions in the past and they sounded great, sorry I can't help Rod, the files are on a hard drive somewhere but I can't remember where....... :(

Awesome mate.....actually you are a person of great interest to me and I would very much love to chat with you one day dude as know your a sound/recording engineer.

I have recently purchased Mixcraft Pro Studio 7 digital recording software for my home studio and have been tinkering with it for the past few weeks running my Yamaha DXT450K e-drums through it as a MIDI plug in.

I can mix down all my stuff to mp3 format no probs and incorporate video tracks along the timeline, but im blowed if i know how to edit MIDI files along the timeline.

Sorry to hijack RJ, maybe better left for another thread.

Will PM ya Heatho.

Here is me mucking around with the Hawks club song laying over the top!

Awesome story Meta, would have been an amazing time touring and supporting Yothu Yindi, great band. I can edit midi but I'm not very good at editing drums, that is something that most people struggle with unless you're a drummer lol. Will have a look at the software, it shouldn't be hard to do mate. Should just be a double click on the midi track timeline file and that should open the editor. I've never used Mixcraft Pro, main programs I used were Steinberg Nuendo and Magix Samplitude/Sequoia but they are usually all very similar.

PM me anytime mate and will help out any way I can.

did you know abbo tribal law says no women are allowed to play a didge ???.. great sound.. my mates a black tribal elder and I call him whitey.. I am white and he calls me a red headed coon.. we are both old Australian bearded bushies and get along well .. :)

You are quite correct kawman....that is the law in Arnhem land also!

Rambanaga dream time law says that any women who picks up a didge will end up pregnant

But they can still pick up a Nulla Nulla so be afraid....be very afraid!

Baahaawhaa ;)

@Heatho....yeah mate they were wild times trust me, great days, great mates along with great heartache also (2000-2004). You know what i mean :)

Thanks heaps for your offer mate, hard to beat that kind of help and knowledge ;)

@RJ.....not a problem for you my good mate, just make sure you show us the video's of the end result ok.

Cant wait to see your work man!

I reckon coin and relic hunting scenes would be perfect with a didge backing track!

;)

Not sure what blood my old man may or may not have; but he lived up in NT for a long time... And lived out on many outstations and at a few camps...

Droving, Mining and Station work...

He was known for jumping into any water hole or creek... Or riding along and he would take off flat out and toss his arms into the air - as if he had been shot and fall off into water....

My father's skin name is "Water Goanna" / "Water Lizard" - can not spell the actual name or even say it correctly. My old man just laughs at me.. and then starts talking some local dialect / pidgin english ... While I understand some of the words - the look in his eyes and the smile on his face is precious - as if he travels back in time...

Shame much of this will soon be lost, as the old phella's move on.

RAMJET - Rambo is also same skin as my old man.... So he always calls me Uncle :) Respect both ways...

Awesome stuff Meta...very talented mate.

While I lived in Darwin I bought a didge from the Didgeridoo shop at Humpty Doo. Just a little tin shed on the side of the road with the fellas out the back making them. Not a cheap rip-off souveneir in sight, they were all the real deal. Even came with a little picture of the maker, his name, tribe and the story behind the artwork.

I bought this one...

I showed my neighbour at the time and he taught me how to play a little, still can't figure out the whole breathe in while blowing out though. I meet need to get you to show me one day.

Nice stick MJB....I can tell by the art piece and the Bees Wax mouthcup that she is ridgy-didge (Haha, pardon the pun).

I know the exact shop your referring too....I had a few acres out at Noonamah, just along the Stuart Hwy from Humpty Doo.

With circular breathing, the key is to store the air to expel in your cheeks as you simaltaneously take new short, sharp breathes through the nose.
