Thanks Mat, I'll be out there again soon mate, really needing a gold fix, might be heading to HE for a couple of days on Sunday, not sure yet as it's a mates birthday next Wednesday so I'd be pushing my luck. After that though I'll be planning some trips very soon. Really looking forward to getting out again. I really struggle with the cold nights though so hoping it warms a little soon.

What are the 2 foreign ones?

I found 1973 American quarter yesterday

Cool Sandta, the quarter would have surprised you I'm sure. The goldish coin is a French 20 Centimes and the 1942 Sixpence is a Brittish one which I thought was a nice find.

Got a 1941 Penny too which was quite a low mintage, only 1 588 000 were made. Other pennies were 38, 52, 53.

Spent quite a few hours out swinging today, was a top day for it, sun shining, hardly any wind, silvers popping out of the ground, yep can't complain.

Couple of interesting finds, a 1942 half penny of which there were only 720 000 minted, good score and happy with that. There was a 1916 Sixpence which was the very worn one. A 1935 Canadian penny and a 1920 American wheat penny. There is an old ring too which I thought was silver but pretty sure it's not, and there is a 925 ring also which I broke trying to bend it back into shape.

I think these USA, Candaian and UK coins I've found over the last few days would have been brought back by returned service men or women.

Surely Australians back then travelled overseas outside of servicemen? We also occasionally find US, Canadian, and English coins amongst other countries ... And I would think not many servicemen were stationed in the US to get the coins? I often here that explanation and wondered ...

Heatho,....is that a Full house I'm looking at ?
Looking a lot like it from here ! :D

Just a conclusion I came up with Paul, pretty sure there would have been Aussie servicemen in the USA, maybe not USA but were certainly in Canada and the UK, one of my grandparents was in the airforce and was in Canada for a while, pretty sure he visited the USA while there.

My suburb was predominantly built for war veterans. All the streets in my suburb are even named after WW2 names and campaigns. So it could be a reason but maybe not.

You could be right though, maybe just travellers.

All those service men and women overseas would have swapped coins with each other to bring some back for the kids and missus to see and have,... would have done that with any nationality they could have,... if they were so inclined of course. ;)

Congratulations on the full house Heatho, the CTX is creaming through the coins. I've found a few US coins, usually around post war government housing, so thinking they may have been brought back from OS by servicemen. :)

Sure is mate. :D What's a royal flush??? A crown and a sov also? :)
I'd say you've called it Heatho(almost),...how about,... small flush if a full house includes a crown,...small royal flush if a full house includes a crown and a half sov,...and the royal flush would have to have a full house with a crown, half sov and a sov,...be a super royal flush if you also found a farthing for the bottom end of it. :D

Got out for a swing today and there are just some things that should not happen to a bloke, like finding fake bloody gold rings, thought I was on and had finally got some gold with the CTX, elation soon turned to despair though........ Better luck next time.

Dug a few targets, luckily managed to cheer myself up with a Ramjet 47 Florrie (which seem about as rare as blowflies at a summer barbecue :) ), a Shilling and $40. Didn't even bother putting the 40 or 50 BB's I dug in a photo, they are in the bottom of the junk bucket.

Ring and coins came up great Heatho,...what do you recon the rc stands for on the ring ?,... could it be a home forged one from other melted down gold and still be real gold maybe,...rc could be the persons name from a gem club where it was created even,... so many questions manifesting from this find alone !,... like what makes you think it's not gold ? :)
