Have had a couple of red poppy coins and spent them. Did not know at the time that they were worth anything significant, it is a pretty ordinary looking coin.
Will be keeping my eyes open for them from now on.
Found a couple of non circulation $1
Yr 2000 HMAS SYDNEY 2
2019 JC Bushrangers
And a circulation coin
2020 $1 Donation Coin
Found a 5c 2001 Flamingo Die Crack
Upside down the curve of the 5 ends up looking like a flamingoes head and beak
So the three dollar coins were all new to me.... exciting finds.
And 5c flamingoes are very rare to find.... but out of the years that can be found it seems to me that 2001 will be the one to turn up.... but you really need to be looking for die cracks to find them, even then you will see the die crack before you realise you have a flamingo.... if you only look for flamingoes you will miss die cracks lol
One of my best finds Silver, thanks to you , i'm addicted now after reading all your posts, thank you sir for your contributions to this forum.
Cheers, Topenda. Hope this photo comes out as i am computer stupid.
Went though this lot if 5cent rolls over Chrissy Holidays after seeing an 'ALIEN' sold on eBay for $300. Each coffee tin holds 60 +rolls of 5cents with 40 coins in each roll.
Did not find one in that lot but found a few other rolls i had forgotten i had, guess what i found.? The 'Alien' error coin i had all along.
Hope you too can find one ,they are out there ..... who knows how many ? Best thing is it only cost me 5cents . :sunny:
G'day nucopia , think those '66' round 50cent coins are selling for around $16 each. Not so much for the condition of the coin but for the silver content, i think 3 of them equal one ounce of silver? An uncirculated one would fetch more.
I reckon the New Zealand 50cent Endeavor are worth face value only unfortunately, but you may be onto a couple of winners if your crowns are dated 1938. :Y:
Not sure on the other pre decimal coins but i sure would like to find some. ickshovel:
That will help a bit in seeing if there is anything special of value, and will identify the silver content of anything that is only worth its weight value.
