I just wish the media and authorities would just shut tfu and let the public use some common sense around this. The more they beat this up the more morons out there will just perpetuate this into a free for all by thinking up other grubby ideas like...... no wait Im not about to give them any suggestions.
Just buy your bloody strawberries and be vigilant folks, I for one am enjoying a cheap taste treat, albeit at the expense of the poor producers.
And if you do find a foreign object in your fruit youll be in the millions to one odds category. :goldnugget:

Great buying at the moment 88c a punnet at the local shops, (at the Cove, Ozzie) noticed the local primary school bought a tray of punnets for the kids as a treat.

Dad charged over alleged false claims about daughter eating contaminated strawberry

AN ADELAIDE father has been charged with making false claims his daughter ate a contaminated strawberry, as the fruit sabotage crisis sweeps the nation.

The 34-year-old man from the city suburb of Paradise reported the incident in which he claimed his daughter bit into a strawberry containing a needle to authorities on September 17.

South Australia Police said in a statement today that the man allegedly purchased the punnet from a metropolitan supermarket.

Following investigation by Eastern District CIB detectives, the man was arrested today and charged with making a false report to police and falsely claiming goods had been contaminated, the statement read.

A SA Police spokeswoman told news.com.au the details surrounding the claims were complicated and that no further information could be provided.
