i here it all the time you cant run 2 4500 or 5000 mext to each other they getting interferences.
but what about 2 2300??

Yeah you can get a lot closer than 2 GPX's, I think from memory you can be about 3 or 4 (maybe a bit more) metres from each other with no problems.

In saying that though I still don't like to get too close to others while gold detecting. Doing a noise cancel if getting a bit close to each other will help as well.

G'day Ben,

Heatho and I, along with a few others were swinging pretty close with the SDC's at times. We must've been well under ten metres/thirty feet or so apart without major issues?

We did a little test with the Zed and SDC a couple of weeks ago, along with two Zed's. The Zed and SDC within ten to fifteen metres was no good. Just starts the threshold ambulance siren on the ZED, couldn't auto tune it out at that distance either. The SDC wasn't too bad, but got worse as it moved closer within that range.

The two Zed's seemed a little more co-operative and I could just hear the threshold breaking around ten metres. We were both on different channels.

The GPX's used to be a real pain at times when trying to work close. They didn't play very nice with other machines either.

Anything over ten metres with two SDC's you should be right out of the interference zone. The less interference the better when detecting :Y:

Cheers,
Shauno.

According to the field manual you can run two F1A4's 3 meters apart using the noise cancel function. I know i can can run mine about 3 meters from an SDC without having problems. The SDC didn't like it though, but might have been able to use the SDC noise cancel to cancel out the F1A4.

In the manual you have to do it in the right order for it to work.

We used to do the same with the F1A4 in Laos when looking for explosive ordnance, about the same distance.

Read somewhere in the Manual on my SDC recommended working distance between two machines is 15 meters

Cheers

I recon 10 feet would be about right sometimes you can run them closer depends on the day. You'll notice cos they start getting worbley and chatty. I have noticed that if you run a GPX anywhere near that distance the gpx is rendered useless they go nuts.

I have noticed that an SDC within about 50 meters drives my 4500 nuts.
I can tell when an SDC is in the same area.
Now with a few members with SDC's and myself, Will know shortly.

Don't tell me that Doug. Started saving for an SDC. Wanted to wave a GPX in the right hand and swing the SDC with the left. I reckon you would cover all bases that way. Lol. Sorry, I'm getting a headache just thinking about it.... stereo bullets?
