can anyone tell me a bit more about this old toy truck?

Details are sketchy on where it was found (a mate found it) but it was in NSW on land that used to be an army base many years ago. Does anyone have any info like its age or who made it etc?
I guess it could be hand made.

.....or could be something from Wyandotte toy trucks from 1930 era, similar to this army truck. Tray is different, but the body looks awfully similar.
