Found this bullet some time back,

Around a old house that was falling apart,

Put it away and forgot about it until today,

I did bit of a Google on it,

Found out that it might of been used in the war,

When the soldiers got bored they would make things out of what ever they could,

It looks like it has Been turned into a punch

But I am not going to hit it with a hammer

Unsure what to do with it,

As you can see it is quite a large bullet,

Goody :)

Hi Goody,

Looks to me as it is a 30mm practise projectile that has been fired from the Defa cannon of our Mirage 111D fighter aircraft from the 1970/80's. If you unscrew the alloy tip you should either see a hollow cavity if they emptied it or the pink inert fill. Junkdog on this forum will probably agree with me. Just check the diameter for me and if it is 30mm then that is what it is.

I know that they used to fire them at the Evans Head Air Weapons Range when it was active.

Cheers

Doug

It feel's heavy.

Not game to unscrew it,

Might blow up in my face,

I found it some time back,

Around a house that was falling apart ,

Down at Tasmania,

The old bloke died and no one looked after he's place,

Goody

This is the closest i could find, looks like an inert artillery training round, might be safer to get it checked one day just in case haha

It is similar to what I have,

Thank you Koplick91

Thinking I might get it looked at...

Ha ha, I'm not even going to ask how that managed to get from Tassie to qld and what it's been through. It's still in one piece and a pretty cool find so alls well

It's on there tight,

I have never removed the top part,

Safety first in my books,

Specially when it comes to things like this,

Goody :)

If it is safe I will donate it to the cex club at Coffs harbour...

They have a great section of war stuff....

Goody :)

I agree with you on that to the other option for a 30mm could be a a-10 warthog they have practiced in Australia a few times :Y:
