In a few weeks I need to head to Brisbane for work and as I not been there at all I would like to know what there is to do and see?

What are you into Shaker ?.... For Nite clubs you have the Brisbane version of Kings Cross, Fortitude Valley.... Just as rough if not worse...
Good Arts centre, Cool Museum, Or only 45min to the Gold Coast....???

Last time i was in brisbane we showered 3 times a day because of the humidity , that filled in some time

Not into the club environment anymore. I am more into sights and attractions, history that kind of thing

Not much to see except toll roads and speed cameras and overpriced fuel....Oh Oh and congestion :Y: Have fun

Having said that, and you HAVE to stay there, I guess you could do worse than go to Mt Coot-tha for the view and coffee, have a stroll around Southbank, and as earlier suggested get mugged in Fortitude Valley.
If you have a spare day, a drive up to the Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Monteville and a visit to Australia Zoo is also good value.

If you have time, a good day trip is to go to Mt Tambourine (Hope I spelt that correctly). There is a thunder egg farm down that way, if you are into that sort of thing.
If you have a 4x4, it used to be good to go beach driving on Rainbow beach.
The Brisbane traffic is not as bad a Sydney. What might take an hour in Sydney will take 20-30 minutes.

Thunderbird Park at Mt Tamborine is a rip-off. .. Head down to the Creek and you will find as many as you want... For Free...

Gold Coast is one of those places you need To check out & mark off as I went there
I lived there for 10 years & enjoyed it
The beaches are good , head down there for a weekend or overnighter
Lots of surf clubs have bars overlooking the ocean
Walk from Broadbeach to surfers Paradise on the sand ..!
Same as most touristy places , plenty of good food & beer
If you are into walks & nature - Tambourine Mountain is 40 mins from GC .

If you have some free time hop on a flight to Sydney.
