A handy bit of wire to have in your 1800s travelling kit, although I guess you just needed to knock off someones boots if you were in desperate need. :lol: :D :lol:
 
they are just brass screws you use them to fix stocks furniture anything they are last century supa glue I have a box of them on the family farm my grand farther and his dad used them for everything screw it up file it off there soft so they can bend a bit easy to work with don't rust and if you use only a small bit file the end and reuse the next bit I have found them everywhere around the farm they are about 60 to 80 mm long and hve found some about 120mm long
