Fingers crossed for Ash Barty to win the frog open! What a lovely ambassador for Australian tennis that girl is, unlike that pathetic embarrassment Kyrgios.

Have been kindly invited up to the Spybase for a BBQ and to watch the game on thier big screen :Y:

RJ, this isnt about tennis, its about an Aussie working her arse off for years to achieve her goal. I am a bit surprised on your attitude to this subject, no different than a little boy wanting to be a train driver one day.

Sorry if I upset you Mackka. I just find sport on TV is overrated. Give equal coverage to science and other pursuits. Sports people are way over paid and over rated in my opinion. Two of my sons represented Australia. One of them in 2 different sports so I know the effort put in by them and their parents.

I used to watch lots of sport, went to every Knights home games etc. Travelled the country so my boys could follow their dreams. Not any more though. Maybe I am just old and too cynical?

PS. I never wanted to be a train diver as a boy. Just a job I fell into in a small town where opportunities were limited.

Whilst I'm hoping for the best for Ash, I should also point out that it's not a spy base Steve - just a radar site..
Sort of realise that BW...just it's locally known as the spybase.. Ask half the locals where JORN or OTHR is and half wouldn't know.. Ask for dirrections to the spybase and they'll drawn you a mud map

Fair call RJ.
I am not into sport either but on this occasion I hoped she would win. I found her quiet, unassuming, no rubbish approach to her profession a breath of fresh air compared to a couple of male players that are obnoxious, self centred and and so full of themselves it leaks from every pore in there bodies staining the reputation of this great sporting country.
End of rant.
By the way, as a boy and even now, I still get a thrill from waving to the train driver and he sounds the whistle.
Best Wishes to you and Mrs RJ and TJ

Gone are the days when playing on the train tracks was normal.  :Y:

Hey ctx and Smokey, Pennies in my day mate and if we found a few track detonators left by the gangers that was a bonus.
We used to jump from carriage to carriage playing cowboys and Indians.
Great memories
