Wheres a good place to prospect around avcoa and somewhere to drive into with a sedan car. Also are there any mines there you can go into.? Any help will do

I don't think people are going to be too forthcoming regarding on where to find gold, unless you do some research for yourself - you have pretty much asked three times now for the same info, obviously without much of a response. Besides, half the fun of prospecting is the pre-trip research, and discovering good areas for yourself. Any known gold areas are prospective, you just have to get out there and put your coil the ground to find it.

As mentioned previously, John Tully and Doug Stone maps are available from Miners Den for a reasonable price to show the best spots to visit, plus there is a wealth of info in this section:

Ditto, however, I have driven these tracks, about 5kms out of Avoca on the Maryborough road, there are diggings to the north and south of the highway.

The main tracks are suitable for a reasonable 2WD car, the not so used tracks are not.

This is however in the dry weather. I take care on all tracks even in my more than adequate 4x4, you should take much greater care. At the end of the day, where you go and how you do it is ultimately your responsibility.

As to where to find gold, all I can say is, when someone tells me, I might think about telling you....

But probably won't, :) It would be a bit like publishing my Visa PIN.

Hi lucky streak,

Your dead keen there's no denying that but now if I was you i'd start contributing to the forum - think of it as an information exchange.

For instance where in Tarnagulla did you go? maps and photo's make your posts interesting and will engage other forum members and invite the exchange of information. Above all recognise one simple fact and that is that YOU ARE 160 YEARS TOO LATE! - all the easy gold in Victoria has been taken. Buy the maps and books that others recommend - why not try the forum search button and hey; maybe check out my posts! you might find a map of Waanyarra showing whereabouts a 1 ouncer was found not long ago. It also shows deep leads and old diggings. In the end you make your own luck...
