(Terra nullius is a Latin expression deriving from Roman law meaning "land belonging to no one",) a European view of land use, therefore possession. Was invoked to allow a multi national company to rape the traditional lands of the original owners because they didn't use the land in a way that they considered the right way. EG. No crops or herds of stock. But the original owners had developed over many many generations the best way to survive using the resources of the land.
They had no herd animals or crops to grow but utilized what was available to them.
