Correct. Smith found gold two years earlier than Hargraves who was rewarded 10,000 pounds and a life pension for the same Find. No wonder he was (upset).

He claimed that he had found gold at the same site - after Hargraves found it and got the reward (Smith had nevertheless found gold somewhere earlier, so probably there) . And the reward was for the first ECONOMIC goldfield discovery, not just the first discovery (a number, such as Rev, Clarke and Strzelecki who named Mt Kosciuszko had found it previously, as well as many in Victoria - that was NSW in those days). Hargraves was the first discovery that the government was willing to recognise publicly.

basically it was the Government of the time to keep the resource quiet, until they knew now to exploit it, and rewarded Hargraves the find, but 2 years earlier at the same spot Smith found it and was told to keep quiet. funny how History repeats itself - still today Governments are not telling the truth until they know what the outcome is going to be ..

No Goldierocks, all three did die, but Im not sure they were even known to each other, its more their lifestyle that connects them by notoriety

I was married twice and partnered for a third time, one of my spouses was a notorious Australian.

Sounds female married at 14 married multiple times , and a notorious Australia and all died. Sounds like their all got hanged.

I was thinking this was going to be quick.

Im a thing, not human all of us are made from the same material, but before me and my bigger brother there was still 6, 2 got killed off and later my brother can first then me. We look different to original 4.
