Swam the English Channel.
Neither of those two, but good guesses. It was in Australia, in different places and times, and by a combination of Australians and overseas types.
Crossed the Simpson desert on foot?
Getting close - not cliff, and not just the Simpson, although a couple of these people would have been there.

Well, I suppose that RJ gets it. According to Wikipedia, a total of 17 people have ran across or around Australia. Somewhat more have walked it. But some of the runners have done it in amazing times.
