Thanks Guys
A quick one for you a great Australian born in Melbourne lived in NSW, claimed to have met Ned Kelly and served in the Great War with Distinction.

Sorry about that, go sidetracked!

Which is the largest and possibly the oldest car club in Australia, and where is it located?

Who am I. Grandson died in WW1, Great Grandson died in WW2.

My Grandson was a deserter from the Royal navy, fought in the French Foreign Legion and was an Australian soldier.

My great grandson was also a soldier but not the Australian Army (but he was an Australian).

There is a myth surrounding a family heirloom that was lost in WW1 and was looked for in WW2 as it could have served as great propaganda for Australia.

Who am I.

Born in Bayswater, England, moved to Australia in 1883 at the age of 20, volunteered for service in the Boer War. As Captain, he commanded the first South Australian contingent to go to South Africa, was later promoted to Major during his service in Africa, was them promoted to Colonel of the Australian Army Reserve in 1918. He also served in Egypt during WW1.

I am also a direct descendant ( not that it helps  ).
