Yep. Went out and watched it last night. Didn’t take any photos as there were too many vehicles in the normally secluded place I went. lots of satellites visible these days too…

Was hoping to see it but unfortunately was cloudy over here. May be a smaller one tonight but it’s now cloudy and raining.

The good news is that the maximum of the sun’s 11 year activity cycle won’t be reached until late 2024. This relates to the intensity of sun spots and solar storms the outpourings of which when encountered by the earth in its orbit cause the aurora. So it is likely that there will be plenty more opportunities to see good auroras over the next couple of years.

It's going to be interesting to see how much EMI gets generated from a detecting perspective... Can't be good.
Back in the day some detectors like the Garrett A2B were practically unusable at times of high sunspot activity. Unlike the more modern detectors, there was no way to tune it out.
