Unfortunately I cant press the like button more than once on your last post chewy.. just got off the phone before logging on here where I said almost word for word the same thing to a mate whos child is dying and he refuses to try it as its an untested product .. thankfully his missus has some brains

Another story I can tell, is of friends with a young fella with ADHD, he is on Ritalin. For those who don't know, thats a type of amphetamine. It works well and as a legal med my mate has no prob with him having it. I'm not sure what the longterm effects may be though. My mate would 5hit a brick if you suggested a medical cannabis solution, cos that's a drug. It's just that we have been bought up believing that. I grew up with friends who smoked recreationally, I have never seen a single 1 of them act anything like the people in that infamous movie "Reefer madness". Yet people still think of it like it's heroin. I've even had people tell me about the marijhuana druggies leaving needles around for kids to get stuck with.....geez louise read a book or something. Lol

maybe I should have said "from my own experience" pot never took the pain away from my spine. im a floor tiler and spend all day bent over, the last time my back said "no more" I was actually smoking, heavily stoned and heavily addicted and while sitting there i lost the feeling in my legs for a couple of days and couldn't move.

i don't smoke anymore as i gave up when i started prospecting. i take codien so i can work hard and fast without my back driving me to stop so i can save fast and get off the tools again(tiling is the only thing that agitates it). like yobs ide like to apologise for some things i say that don't come out right and don't make sense.

Weed "doesn't make you hallucinate" is a pretty broad statement, now how many of you youngsters have tried a real authentic Thai Stick? Not all herb was created equal, some will make you hallucinate........ 3 Bamboo Scooners of that will get you driving the porcelain bus.

That reminds me.....I must ring Chapelle Corby and ask for my boogie board back. lol ;)

I have Osteo Arthritis & a crook back, not to the extent you do but I have had some success with operations & medications. The operations on my thumbs have enabled me to reduce my medications to a quarter of what they were before the operations. Yes, I do get the itches & when I stopped using the Endone I went through withdrawals but they served their purpose at the time.
Surprisingly, I found that buying a good quality pair of boots from The Athletes Foot have proven very beneficial in relieving the pain in my right foot- not completely removed the discomfort but certainly beneficial for my foot & back.

You are likely to be the best researcher for pain relief as a Doctor usually doesn't have sufficient time to do the research for you.

There is a website dedicated to pain relief (I cannot remember which one at present so Google it) which I found beneficial. Your Doctor might know of it. Among other things it mentioned distraction, which I found beneficial.

Whenever the Black Dog stalks me I concentrate on the good things in my life (family mainly) & the things I can still do, that has helped me immensely.

When things start to get on top of you, picture yourself blowing those troubles into a balloon, tying the neck off so they cannot escape & let them float off into the ether or, picture yourself putting them into a file, filing the file into a filing cabinet (sorry about the convoluted explanation) lock it & picture yourself throwing the key into an abyss where you may never retrieve it.

I know these ideas sound a bit out there but they have worked for me.

THE STRONGEST WEAPON YOU HAVE IN YOUR ARSENAL IS YOUR OWN MIND (capital letters for emphasis, not to shout) but never be afraid to let your friends & family help you though, let them know when to keep their distance so they are not offended when things get a bit much for you & you lash out. It benefits them as well because if you are happier, their lives are much improved & if they can see progress, they will take a great deal of heart from that & be encouraged to enjoy your company. Laughter is both contagious & distracting!

Good luck with it all.

Nice one keith...

I was angry/short with people for along time before i realised it was the pain. I was so good at masking/blocking it i wouldnt know im in pain until i lashout and hurt the ones i love...not to mention my poor work mates "i owe them a life time of beer".

Your right about the shoes....i got those ugly croc/clog thingys there great...best shock obsorbtion ever. Still cant walk hard on my heals but less agravation all the same.
Ive been through pain clinics/managment with dad and ex partner....i cant do it ..it didnt help them....and to me listening to the doctors it seems there just following protocols...they know they cant do anything for you but they still make you go through all the injections...physio...pain clinics endless drug trialing.
I feel back pain sufferers are funding this floored system keeping them employed...i know that sounds ridiculous but........
Per week ..$120 osteo $80 remedial massage..$40 scripts and creams...$80 doctor visit for scripts...i stopped it all because it wasnt really helping me! I wasnt feeling any better! it was just robbing me....why are they called specialist when there are soo many of them???

You put just saying on one of your other posts, thought I'd try it on for size :)

Did mine falling off a ladder back in the plumbing days. Dug hundreds of holes, jackhammer, lifted all manner of heavy crap...oxy bottles, eels, earthenware pipe etc... Worked in demolition also, hard labour!! Worked in a Steel Mill, hard labour. Lifted in the gym for approx 28yrs also. Now I work on people with various lower back injuries every day.

I know the pain, I see the pain... The road is long, but I truely believe there is a way out. Hope you find yours :)

what sort of work do you do with people?
I would love to strengthen my back? The constant shooting burning pains down my legs is ridiculous....and thats just from an extended walk?
How did you get past that? Did you suffer nerve pain?
Back injuries are never the same like finger prints might be same condition but different symtoms?

have been reading this with an open mind and my own opinion 8) 8)

It's only frowned upon due to indoctrination by the powers that be, America led they way incriminating people for it and now they are leading the way for medical use and even recreational use. Go figure, Australia is 17 hours ahead but 20 years behind......... and usually follows America's lead, just takes us a while to catch on. Anyway certain states in the USA are certainly enjoying the tax it generates. Win win situation I guess.
