Does anyone know a good spot to take my 2 young kids panning in victoria were they might see some color in the pans

Reedy creek in eldorado always puts out.
There is Dalesford and Creswick, but those two get smashed pretty hard these days.

I'de like to know that spot too mate, everywhere I see has been ransacked lately.
Walk through what seemingly is virgin bush and BAM a twistee wrapper and a dug up creek.

Ah yeh, there is still some good gold to find in Creswick but you must be very lucky to get the bigger stuff like pickers.

Hey Mark we have to get to Eldorado when it has rained.
A bit of a drive but it might be worth it :)

That's had a full summer of people working it, you'll still find stuff, but you're better to wait after the big winter flows.
It's always a reliable place to go after the big rains.

After winter then, i will try some test panning in Heathcote.
Looks like i will be there next week or the week after for work :Y:

Hi Everyone,
Total newbie here and I know this post is 4 months old but I have the same idea as Ewan1987.
I want to take the kids for a drive down Woolshed Road (Beechworth to Eldorado way)
I have brought them pans, have a miners right and have the parks vic map. I'm just wanting the kids to have a bit of fun and to do something different for the holidays.
Just wanting to know if there is any places I should avoid along the way or if anyone know of a good or general spot?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you
(hope I have posted this right)

Kangaroo crossing is a good start

Thank You
I will see what I can find on google about it. Only ever been to Beechworth and Woolshed Falls but never down this road.
Cheers

Anywhere along the creek is good mate, just look for areas where the water slows and drops heavies. Kangaroo crossing is the first ford you will come across coming in from eldorado. There are lots of campsites along the road, but most are 4wd only.

Have a look through these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REawWrHqpsE

This fella's video are good too https://www.youtube.com/user/TheMullocky/videos

BTW if you camp there and notice lots of holes in the ground it's bloody big spiders, don't sit or lie on the ground at night, they only attack insects, I have never had a problem sitting in a camp chair.

Thanks for the advice and the links I will check them out.
And thanks for the heads up with the spiders

Are you camping? Do you have a 4wd?

Yes I have a 4wd, and not camping this time it will just be a day trip as we are from Albury. If there are some good spots, we will go back and camp another time.
