The 12x8" Evo is my favourite smaller coil on the 4500. If I could have something like that on the 6000, it would be great.

It seems like certain detectors like different coils. I gave away the 12"x8" Evo and the 11" Detech Ultra with the GPX4500 and was very happy to see them go. They were both quite useless to me because I couldn't stand the constant chatter. Neither of these coils found enough gold to pay for themselves yet others seem happy with theirs.

Different coils for different soils. WA dirt is generally a lot hotter than where I spend most of my time. There are still some really noisy patches here where the spiral/flat wound coils suffer, especially when the ground is wet. The 6000 can also suffer in these bad spots. GPZ handles it a little better, but Enhance on a 4500 or 5000 with a standard (bundle wound) mono is still the best option. So if a smaller elliptical on a 6000 can handle these noisy clay patches even slightly better than the stock 11", it will be interesting.

Am disappointed with NF with no small coils (6 or 8 Inch) for the GPZ 7000 have their 12 inch coil, glad I purchased a 10 inch X coil from Russia B4 all the agro.

I suppose they are waiting for the GPZ 8000

Pity Coiltek did not get in on the act.

There are only X amount of hours in a day ? The R & D on a new coil and time involved would be considerable and the way I have seen some members castrate any failings on this forum  If NF bang one out and it has issues or be slow in doing, so is a bit of a no win situation for them from where I sit ?
Maybe they should produce coils that come with their own nuggets included. o_O

With the coil design specifics set down by minelab that nugget finder HAVE TO follow is a 6” or 8” even possible? And anyway, a 6” really??? What are you looking for?

I.

I spoke with Rohan as the 12" was being rolled OUT, the other coil he was working on was a 17" which still required more testing.
I asked him about a smaller coil like a 10" for those small rocky creeks and high scrub areas where a larger coil effectively stops you being able to cover the ground properly "yes I know there's those out sneering right now you'll lose depth DH" you're right if you could get that coil on the ground, but a large coil 6" off the ground is it better than a small coil being well controlled 2cm off the ground? So shut up! I digress.
Anyway Rohan said he had no plans for a smaller coil & thought demand would be for the larger lighter coils I said "I'd buy a smaller one rather than the 17". He couldn't even find any more time to spend on the 17" at that time as he was flat out trying to keep up with the demand for the 12" every single one of those 12 inch coils was being personally wound by Rohan (don't know if still the case but probably is because he just wants to know it's done right at $1295.00 each I can understand that a heap of warranty claims could easily fold him up) and @ that time he was 200 units behind the orders that were pouring in and he could only wind 8 coils per day & had no intention of training other people to do it. A few months later I heard he was 400 behind as orders were coming in faster than he could produce them. Where's the 17" one year on? Global market, high demand & a one man show! I 🤔 I know where the 17" is!

Rohan is a perfectionist and proud of the products he puts out, he spends heaps of time on R&D & shitloads of time testing before releasing new products because he us to get the best & certainly doesn't want them coming back. 3 year warranty sort of says it all to me. I have the 12" Z Search & haven't used the Minelab 14 since I put it on. Do I want the 17" one day when Rohan finds the time to finish it to his high standard - No! would I buy a smaller one than the 12"? YES will that ever happen? NO!
If you own a NF coil Rohan will be there for you if there's a problem.
He's like an elf in the workshop, working his fingers to the bone but still has time for a chat about the coils he loves. I can't feel disappointed that he hasn't any plans for smaller coils, just thankful for the 12" & I don't have to swing the heavy minelab all day anymore.

All advertising for the 16x10 has been removed from NF website and rumour is that it is not going ahead????

Mine operates fine with it (17x13)? Only issue is there's not many open areas to use it here. Everything is overgrown.
Mine would not penetrate as deeply as the 11", compared many nuggets as we have 2 6000s. I have even sent mine back and received a new one as I thought it was faulty. Still the same result with new one.
