In the thread about books about prospecting, I made mention of Ed Waller's And There's Gold Out There. This was published in 1965, and is the fictionalised story of the author's experiences prospecting in the 1930's with an experienced old hand. It is full of good yarns and useful technical detail. I thought this extract may be of interest. The story is set on the Major's Creek goldfield.
