Cheers mate, since I have had the detector I have learnt a lot and mostly you need to have the setting right like any detector I guess, and also know where the targets will lay
Well yet again another day out in the sun and the pre decimals keep coming along with the gold. I total 6 silver coins, 4 copper including 2 1c coins and 2 5c which I thought were sixpence as they were the same size, but after sand blasting a few they appeared. Also the find of the day was a gents 9k gold bracelet which was ne of the first targets. The bigges silver was the florin followed by the shilling. Total gold count for the days out is 33g. Loving my holidays
nice finds that CTX is getting close to reality for you keep up the good work you'l have it sooner than you think. I will pick mine up on thursday, I think mastering it won't be as easy as Xterra.
Very nice, you certainly seem to have picked out a previously unworked area, I think there are plenty of beach detectorists in SA, but not so many actually working in the water. Makes for more interesting detecting over on land gold prospecting, at least you are just about guaranteed of finding something every trip, with more of a chance of actually making a few $$$$. Underwater PI or multi-frequency VLF detectors are a much better investment than say a $6000+ Gpx5000.
Another great session sa_b - that Excaliber is lethal! I just picked up a Sovereign GT today as the Ace 350 just can't detect on the wet sand with any accuracy and is unusable in the shallow water. Can't wait to try it out with you in the water for a change!
I must say guys that sharing the hobby with your son is a fantastic way to spend time together having a lot of fun!
