Great find, and at the depth it was at I wonder how many people ignored it as 'trash' in the past. I probably would have that's for sure!

Makes you wonder doesn't it. How many of us, especially late in the day, dismiss something as junk & keep looking for a more subtle target signal?
I know on the SDC you just shouldn't do it - anything I have found over a gram with it sounds like a shallow .22 or junk. Dig em all.

Not only multiple threads about it but everyone I know feels the need to tell me about it as though they think I spend all my time in the bush.

I'm just jealous and hate being constantly reminded that I wasn't the one who found it lol.

I believe I know where the nugget was found a place called mosquito gully near Wedderburn. Does anyone know that area at all and also beggary hill is near by too. But I believe you can't prospect there or can you at beggary hill. Cheers

Pure coincidence RJ, just like how it seems to coincide with the release of a new high end detector. I think I might contact Minelab and find out when their next release will be, I will then start detecting about two weeks before that date. Can't miss I reckon.

If it were mine I would be like an old member on here used to be. People would ask him "where did you find that". He would reply " do you know where Kingower (or other similar place) is? They would eagerly reply "yeah mate yeah" & he'd reply "well it was nowhere near there". :lol:

Not trying to sound special but I can honestly say I heard about this from my MD partner who is a friend of the finder at least 2 weeks ago. I believe him so well done on the find and makes me want to buy a Gold Detector (but I'm not allowed too.... ).

Was close to Wedderburn but that's all I was allowed to hear!
