Can something like this be 3D printed?

Vortex sluice riffles I think they are called, seen them on youtube. They concentrate the heavies in the round part of the spiral. Cleanup looks like a pain if they are fixed to the sluice box. They do work well though

There are scanners that you can get that you put your item on and the platform the items sitting on rotates and then it laser scans the item to create the 3d file for you.
You then print them off on a 3d printer.

Ill mention it again, I have experience with 3D Studio Max for the past 12 years. I can do 3d files and formats for an equal trade of some sort. ( You would not believe the useless stuff I request, this 'trade' would never be something over $30 unless the model takes days ) But I have not used 3d printers or seen them, so someone will just have to tell me what file format the 3d model has to be exported or saved as.

Replies will be slow from me for a while, if you want faster contact, please PM me as it will show up on my mobile.

a stl file is the preferred format for 3d printing

Google sketch up has a lot of support regarding stl files and its free

a 3d scanner is out of the due to cost and the only do small scans

Anyone thought about a telescopic sluice made from a 3D printer. I envisage something similar to V-8's initial design but slightly smaller/larger modules to not only fit together (telescoping) but with inbuilt riffles. Add or remove modules depending on the location. 'Swept wing'/fold-out attachment for intake. Would be compact and light. Someone tell me I'm dreaming

I like the idea, 3d printers are awesome so it couldn't be too hard to do some thing like that I reckon, shame I don't have a 3d printer to play with or I'd be at it already lol
