I have read this with some interest. I reckon 'cracker mate - good on you' and then the nonsense starts. we have a similar issue in the GT in Vic- get a good find, try and share the news and BAM!!! - nonsense crapohla from wanna be prospectors. What the hell are we all supposed to do? Report finds after school holidays, etc etc, so no-one thinks it's a set-up? Good luck to you NQ crew -more power to you.

Here is a bit of controversy - typical of how the forum is going. Several desk-top heroes who could not detect a sun-baker if it was glaring them in the face.

Fellas - good gold, good info - as for the rest, as our old mate Darryl Kerrigan says "tell 'em to get stuffed'.

that's what happened when I found my 12gram and 8 gram bit with a Garrett people wore pining me for sh.t no.1 my detector cos everyone thinks mine lab is the best and no.2 the gold I found with it everyone wanted to know where and how I found it so im smart now I shut up and don't tell anyone about any gold I find over a gram anymore cos you just get picked on for no reason other than people being jealous of what you have found and what detector you found it with that's why I don't give locations out to anyone because 1 it may start a gold rush and 2 if I did I would come back a week later to find holes everywhere and the whole place turned over

I mean I would like to share my locations and good spots ive researched and spent hours on the ground testing and looking for gold as well as old mines but ive only got about 3 friends who I can trust with just about anything out of 300 friends

but anyway ive learnt don't put something on the net you want to keep secret

only put spots/finds you want everyone to know about on the net and everyone to then find your spots cos most will

Should be no issues in promoting NQ, bloody nice place last time I was up there, I'm all for you fellas helping out the farmers promoting tours, trips or pay & play, if the cockies are good enough to open they're land up for detecting/camping for a fee, then what's the bloody difference between that and the pay and stay National Parks we have nation wide, least on these farms you can swing a coil, and your coins going to help your fellow Aussie mates out

I use to log onto this forum for the friendly nature and willingness to share info from what use to be a dedicated well mannered bunch of prospectors. Even spent a year in moderation, and found common sense and respect for others use to over ride self importance and a need to stir up trouble.

Decided to give up moderation, and won't be too long before I give up on the forum, as by looking from the outside, the forum jar is bordering on the negative side of half full. Think I'll go and read a good book instead. :|

Wal.

same wal it seams that that's the case in this modern wold no one helps anyone and if they do they get ripped off or pined for crap they didn't do I mean that many people drive past the average joe on the side of a road without even asking are you ok mate ?

I was brought up to help as much as possible be as polite and respect people and I don't fellow people like a sheep and if I saw someone on the side of the road or walking I would always ask are you ok mate ? and not teat people like dogs like most teens/people do these days or on drugs or smashing public property for no reason

ahh how the modern wold is crap these days no respect no help or not much anyway if you have a flat tyre

Common fellas were talking about Lee hes no **** talker. ... why are people jumping to conclusions... i tell you what.... if a mate of mine find a 21ouncer in Ballarat id be splashing it all over here. 1 to share with my fellow PA mates and 2 because tourism keeps the country alive. And isn't that what its all about for us prospectors? Arent we all chasing that infamous nugget... take what info you can... investigate every lead...

And i tell you what.... youve got far better chances of finding a decent nuggett on private property that has produced gold than walking over the same usual spots in the maps you bought that every tom **** and harri has

I tell you what, Lee was most helpfull to us when we flew into Western creek....
I have a package of stuff here with maps etc, that I am more than happy to email on to people that want to go there..
We didn't find much gold........but hey, you gotta walk over it eh

Hi Lee,

The wife and I will be coming over to Qld. from the Territory in Feb. we are bringing our detectors. We have a temporary miners license and are looking for a couple of days "pay and detect" any details or links to stations in that area that allow fossicking would be greatly appreciated.

Regards to all

Hi Jim
Happy to help mate, send me a PM with your email on it & I will pass on the info that I wont put up for everyone to see.
The only issue you will have as I am sure you are aware is the wet season should be in full swing!!! hopefully??? this may limit your ability to get around & some roads do become blocked.

I will put up the contact details for these places here tonight.
cheers
Lee

Hi all

Im female so I see things as they are Im not in no battle for honors.

Its true the places mentioned are turning up gold big gold lots of it. Should be lucky fellas someone shared the names I wouldn't have.

June last year we headed up to these places no one told us to just taking a winter break so head North.

My husband has a 5000 been away twice I think it was purchased October 2013 we own a business and live in an area where we really need to drive 5 hours to detect so not much takes place.

Anyway as I said new at detecting landed up that way free camped at western creek, amazing seeing the gold being found just in the 4 days we were there I know and had seen over 30oz between a few fellas come out, I'm talking only a few.

One of the other spots mentioned we as beginners left with over 2oz I think that was 28 nuggets that spot a fellow from NSW pulled out a beautiful 7oz nugget and had another 5oz in small ones.

RC you are right all the way. Our 3 weeks up there I seen over 50oz of gold between the 2 places we were at and only a dozen blokes.

Guess where we are heading this winter.

Facts: it is hard work the best gold is the hardest to find, when you work hard the rewards come.(sooner or later)

To the fellas who don't believe good they wont go up that way. To the ones who want to put in long hard days you will find it up there and best of all they have had big rain.

Hope to see a few believers up that way around June.

I can't believe the attitude of some of the people in this thread. I think perhaps NQ would be better off if some of you guys kept on believing there is no gold there. I for one am incredibly thankful that there are property owners willing to let prospectors on to have a go whether they are paying or not. I would gladly pay to get onto property and i would return even if i didn't find anything the first visit as I am more than confident there is plenty of it around and am sick of being restricted to just the major rivers. Fresh country to visit and explore is always welcome whether I see gold or not.
I have really really struggled to find owners willing to let me on their property for pay or otherwise. This thread has given me hope that there are still some out there, especially in good producing areas.
I prospect because I love it, I love seeing gold but I also just love the outdoors and seeing new country. I would gladly prospect my little ass off for 2 weeks for 0.1g of gold. Given the attitudes expressed here, I reckon some of you are in this hobby for the wrong reason.

I'm a little confused why this thread with it's tone was allowed to continue, but recently a thread on a 'political' discussion was locked???
