Do you take the old commode out at night for convienence?

I've managed to get that one in the boot. The rusty looking item on the left rear of the trailer is another toilet upside down. It has a cast iron bowl and is inserted into a drum. The wheel you see is rotated after use so the crap makes its way down into the compost drum. It'll need a bit of research to work out the age of it. We have the wooden seat and lid but it's in poor condition so needs a little TLC.

It's started. Getting it under cover was a bit of a challenge. The shape is makes it very hard to pick up and move.

We're having a few wild storms but at least in between it's cool enough to get a bit of work done.

When the mercury hits 40°C it's a bit hard to get a days work in.

CIG Tubes.jpg

I did manage to get my CIG tubes cut. I brought the plasma cutter home on our last trip south but it runs on 3ph power and we only have single phase so I just have to wear a few more cutting disks out.

I'm running out of heavy angle and Cue Bunno has been cleaned up so no chance of getting new stock.

38 Out the Gate mate but as a Contractor 43 did me.
No joy when ya duds are soaking wet hey.
Your going well for an Old fella Mr M.
Nice work.

Last night I drove an hour and a half NW to grab a 2400 x 1200 sheet of 10mm plate.

Steel.jpg

When I got there it'd grown to 5000 x 1340. I've only got a one tonne hiab so it took me nearly an hour to load it and then I had to fight the kangaroos for road space on the way home.

I woke up a little short on energy so by the time I got to consider cutting the plate it was 9am and 36°C so I've retreated back inside. That's me done until the shade comes over late in the day.

Too Hot or it`s Too Cold.
Too Windy or it`s the Calm before a Storm.
At-least there are no V1 Doodlebugs falling out of the sky.:)

Perhaps I should be posting in the Whinge of the day thread but we do see the extremes in temperature and at this time of the year some wild storms.

I did get out there to do a bit of work after 6pm.

Off topic but on the storm thing i encountered dry lightening a couple of weeks ago.
Never experienced that before it struck the ground only several meters away & scared the crapper out of me.
Barely any clouds in the sky nothing that looked any storm was coming.
It really put the willies up me and was affraid to go out side for the rest of the day.

They are the ones that are most likely to start bushfires but that's not likely to happen around here because red dirt doesn't burn very well.

Paddle.jpg

I've been chasing around for a bit of 50mm round bar but I found this old paddle in my back yard.

The rubber coating was a bit more difficult to remove than I was counting on.

Roller end plate.jpg

I finished cutting the first four end plates and got the first roller just about done.

It's a bit slow going with the stick welder but the welds will survive vibration better than a mig weld.

Tonight I've been busy installing an ADSB antenna for the app Flightradar 24.

They told me I'd have to install an antenna but they didn't send a pole.

All ready for them to turn it on at the other end. This receives and transmits aircraft locations so that other aircraft can see and track air traffic in the area. It has to be connected 24/7.
